美国圣马特奥玻璃墙住宅
来自于建筑师的叙述。Klopf Architecture, Arterra Landscape Architects和Henry Calvert of Calvert Ventures一起设计建造了一栋新的、温暖的、现代的、受艾克乐启发的、开放的、室内-室外的住宅，住宅坐落在圣马特奥市高原地区的深处，在这里本来有一栋艾克乐住宅，但是住宅被完全的焚毁了。与原来的住宅所提供的空间相比，业主们想要供多代人居住的、更大的空间，但是所有当事人都认为住宅应该尊敬周围的邻居，并在形式上与其他的艾克乐住宅相混合。
首先，Klopf团队考虑使用原来的住宅所留下来的仅有的东西，并在此基础上进行扩展。但是经过与业主和建筑者们进行讨论之后，所有当事人都同意原始住宅留下来的极少的元素是不适合再重新使用的，所以Klopf Architecture设计了一栋新的住宅，住宅使用了新的方法来达成艾克乐的风格。艾克乐住宅的一个缺点是住宅的设计不能充分的利用每一块特殊的场址。
From the architect.Klopf Architecture, Arterra Landscape Architects and Henry Calvert of Calvert Ventures Designed and built a new warm, modern, Eichler-inspired, open, indoor-outdoor home on a deeper-than-usual San Mateo Highlands property where an original Eichler house had burned to the ground.The owners wanted multi-generational living and larger spaces than the original home offered, but all parties agreed that the house should respect the neighborhood and blend in stylistically with the other Eichlers.
At first the Klopf team considered re-using what little was left of the original home and expanding on it. But after discussions with the owner and builder, all parties agreed that the last few remaining elements of the house were not practical to re-use, so Klopf Architecture designed a new home that pushes the Eichler approach in new directions. One disadvantage of Eichler production homes is that the house designs were not optimized for each specific lot.
