建筑面积：8600平方英尺（798.97平方米）Project Area: 8，600 sqf 这个项目是对一个二十世纪二十年代的旧商业建筑的改造，改造后它将成为一个住宅空间。它位于芝加哥，包含三层结构，是由厚重的木质框架构成，外立面覆盖砖块。设计尊重原有结构，同时为其植入新式的设计元素。最重要的植入就是一个开阔的窗户墙，它向上突起，并流向屋顶，形成一个透明的阁楼空间。这面窗户墙与一个私人院落相连，形成密集城市氛围内独特的宝贵资产。The Leavitt Residence is an extensive renovation of a 1920′s mercantile building in the Chicago neighborhood of Bucktown. The 3-story existing structure consisted of heavy timber framing， with brick cladding at the exterior. An effort was made to respect the existing building while at the same time inserting dramatic new design gestures. The most significant insertion was to add an expansive window wall which extrudes upward and flows over the roof to create a highly transparent penthouse. The window wall provides connection to a private yard， a valuable asset in this dense urban setting.
