这个方案是奥地利hans hollein & partner建筑事务所设计的，两个独立建筑体量（博物馆和行政楼）为这座历史城市带来了新的张力。建筑师用隐喻的手法将历史元素融入到古老的大都市中，例如立面上采用的干挂石材就与雷根斯堡主教堂相呼应。这个新“巴伐利亚历史博物馆”方案并没有一个清晰可识别的外形——来直接对应内部展出的多种展品。博物馆入口设在多瑙河沿岸，正对大教堂。建筑东南角是餐厅和露天剧场，不过博物馆是否开放，人们都可以自由出入。在带大楼梯和天光的中央圆形大厅中，参观者可以蜿蜒穿梭，观赏沿楼梯布置的装置展品。特殊展厅和活动空间位于二层，可通过自动扶梯到达。当参观者在建筑中穿行时，总是可以窥见室外的多瑙河，雷根斯堡主教堂和城市美景。
two separate volumes (museum and administration) bring a deliberate tension within the historical context of the city. through undertones and metaphors， the building proposal by austrian hans hollein & partner makes historical references to the aged metropolis such as the stone cladding that corresponds to that of the regensburg cathedral. the 'museum of bavarian history' does not have a clearly defined and easy readable form - directly responding to the diversity of content being exhibited. the building entrance is situated from the danube river facing one of the large cantilevers. at the southeast corner， a restaurant and amphitheater can be accessed freely and irrespective of museum opening hours. inside a central rotunda - with its grand staircase and skylight - the space allows the visitor to meander through the installations along the staircase， eventually breaking through the tree canopies of the bavarian forests. the special exhibitions and event spaces on the first floor are easily accessible via escalators. repeatedly as one moves through the structure， the visitor is granted with glimpses to the danube， the regensburg cathedral and panoramic city views.图包下载
