受保护住宅这座住宅楼位于一个原有的住宅小区内，是为24位精神病患者建造的。建筑坐落在白色的混凝土平台上，外面覆盖黑色的混凝土构件。

受保护住宅采用垂直结构并融合了白色石材的建筑立面成为密集种植的桦树的背景。树木不但能保护住户隐私，还柔化了混凝土硬朗的外形。

受保护住宅建筑转角处是入口、支持设施和一个小餐厅。在这里，白色的平台被抬高，创造出巨大的完全开放的转角，与周围的公共空间产生了互动关系。
