151 East Jacques Avenue 悉尼151 East Jacques庭院花园 The central courtyard of the Jaques Avenuedevelopment is situated on a raised podium. It is the primary outlook for themajority of apartments in the development. A three-story opening in thebuilding facade provides a framed view of the central courtyard from Jaques Avenue. The courtyard is both a common space and afeature of the entry to the residential development. The structure of thelandscape design has been generated by the lines and layers created by the washof the ocean on the shoreline. This theme translates into a series of landscapestrips that contain feature planting and materials to be experienced in bothplan and elevation. The strips are filled with water, endemic coastal plantsand local materials such as rocks and crushed gravel. The planting in thecentral courtyard has been designed to create privacy between the facingapartments and to allow light into the residences. The private courtyards extending fromresidential units use plantings of bamboo and native trees with timber and perspexscreens to ameliorate privacy issues and to create generous external livingareas. Steel frame pergolas with climbing vines act as a further privacymeasure.
