Architect‘s statement Lasell Village consists of 162 independent living units with 14 buildings connected through a network of glass-enclosed walkways and bridges. Two campuses were formed consisting of seven buildings each, surrounding a village square reminiscent of typical New England villages. Wide connecting corridors of the Village Town Hall‘ form an interior Main Street. The 13 residential buildings all contain varied seminar rooms to support the unique Lifelong Learning Program. As a condition ot residence, villagers must participate in 450 hours of continued education per year. Classroom functions include lecture rooms, reading/library rooms, computer room, art studio, gardener‘s room, exercise room and indoor pool. Off-campus learning activities are also part of the curriculum.
