This is a closed-in suburban care facility adjacent to three major population areas. The original concept was intended to be a two- to three-story facility that provided a continuum of care. Site complexities, slope, and significant wetlands created a design that was considerably more compact and vertical than was originally anticipated. The 1 54-unit facility is on eight levels that are diminished in scale due to a site that slopes away from the main roadway and entry. The facility is entered on the third level, which contains most of the major common areas, including the main kitchen, dining room, and some assisted/ independent residences. Level one is devoted to memory care and features a memory/ wandering garden. Level two houses assisted living residents while levels tour to six house assisted/independent residents. The assisted/ independent suite residents occupy levels seven and eight and are provided with upgraded interiors, finishes, and concierge service.
