小林崇（takashi kobayashi）是一位自学成才的设计师，他在日本设计了一系列树屋建筑。这位木匠和建筑师在日本境内设计建造了120座住宅，每个项目都有一个总体目标——消解人与自然的边界。自从1993年设计一座树屋开始，小林崇和他的设计团队treehouse people用回收再利用的木材，发展了一系列设计建造方法，用树形结构在树枝和四肢结构上寻求平衡，避免阻碍树木正常生长。这些树屋种类多样，从多节粗糙的、超现实小屋到正方形体量，但都有一个共通的概念，即感恩自然的幻想空间。这些树屋还具有治疗功能，例如solaputi儿童营，这是一个针对患有严重晚期疾病儿童的项目。树屋给孩子们提供了一个玩耍的户外空间，担架和轮椅都能进出。1993年，建筑师小林崇首次被树屋概念所吸引，最早的项目是围绕一棵树建造的小咖啡吧，靠近小林崇位于原宿的二手服装店，现在还在使用。小林崇的树屋让使用者摆脱繁杂的日常生活，减少过度饱和的城市空间中的信息，让建筑与自然达到平衡。
Takashi kobayashi is a self-taught designer that has brought treehouse vernacular to the japanese landscape. the carpenter and architect of 120 houses throughout japan， his prolificness is borne of a deep-seated investment in the creation of a new architectural tradition in his country added to the hefty， overall aim of each project- to erode the boundary between man and nature. using reclaimed wood， the designer and his collective treehouse people have developed methods since the first building in 1993 for the arboreal structures balanced on living boughs and limbs that avoid stunting the growth of the tree. the houses range from gnarled， surreal huts to minimalist orthogonal volumes， but are joined by a common concept of fantastical space indebted to nature. the architecture can take on therapeutic proportions， like the project for solaputi kids camp， a program for children with serious， often terminal， illnesses. the treehouses afford the children an opportunity to play outdoors since the building can accommodate both stretchers and wheelchairs， allowing access via a horizontal bridge. first excited by the idea that a tree could exist inside a room in 1993， theearliest project was a bar built around a tree near kobayashi's secondhand clothes shop in the harajuku district. the building still stands as a cafe. kobayashi's treehouses are a ceremonious， exuberant opportunity rid the users of everyday life and pare down the information that so saturates urban spaces by equalizing architecture and nature.
