阿诺比公墓的扩建是由MRM建筑事务所和市政当局合作完成的。公墓地理位置偏远，建筑标准也与众不同。该标准的基础是以公墓与背景物的关系，同时考虑到了城镇的都市形态在形式和功能上的不连续性。在这一项目中，轮廓塑造家们加长延伸了现有墙体，保留了其凹凸有致的流动感，远远看去建筑似乎与天空和周边风景都融为一体了。镂空水泥砖的复杂材料性能使得挡水墙具有一定的透明度，使其边缘与空间得以重塑。透过镂空水泥砖，在不同的角度里可以直接看到场址内不同的部分，抑或可以把它当成一个将两个空间领域完全分隔开来的固体，由此将建筑的空间外观包围在一个可渗透的薄膜之中。这个薄膜对传统的“房间”概念进行了新的诠释，并使得各部分均能通过自身的朝向或在内部构成中的位置来展现时间的流逝。自然、风和光可以自由地穿过公墓入口，这样炉墙不再像以往那样仅仅是一座院墙，更多了一份空间感。这里不再仅仅是一处公墓，在如此宁静的环境中，来访者可能会彻底地沉醉其中。
The isolated location of the "a?orbe cemetery" and it's new extension by MRM arquitectos and the municipality in general， perched upon an escarpment defines a certain set of arquitectonic criteria on a large scale based on the relationship with its context and the formal/functional discontinuity with the urban morphology of the town. The program formalizes itself through the new enclosure in two areas， with reinterpreted walls that extend the existing partitions: sculptors of the very contours to which they simultaneously adapt to and retain with concave and convex fluid moves that incorporate the sky， views， and landscape in a cohesive structure. The retaining walls redefine edges and spaces with a partial transparency created from the intrinsic material properties of hollow concrete masonry units (CMU) that， depending on the viewing angle， can offer a direct connection to various parts of the site or read as a solid mass completely separating the two spatial spheres. Each transparent block contains its own distinct void， enclosing the footprint in a permeable membrane that redefines the archetypal "room" and allows each component to exhibit the passage of time through its own orientation and position within the compilation. Nature， wind and light are free to pierce the threshold making the envelope a mere suggestion of space rather than an autocratic delineation， so the visitor may be entirely consumed within the serene environment， at the same time satisfying the practical needs of an architecturally functioning construction.
