作为德国科布伦茨市区中心改造的一部分，荷兰benthem crouwel建筑事务所为其设计了大型购物中心forum mittelrhein以及forum confluentes。该项目通过网格化建筑体重新诠释了商厦建筑公共空间的复杂性，并有效地疏散了密集型人流。中心广场起到了公交车的作用，带领人们前往各个方向，并且通过梯形布局进行了有效地结合，呈现出一种圆形的建筑语言。forum mittelrhein购物广场拥有许多宽敞的入口，层次分明的水平排列促进了人们的流动性。其循环体制像是一种定向指引，同时自动扶梯在该空间中呈现出蜿蜒的线条。建筑物的外围体现出了多样化的材质及颜色；商场最上面的三层有着截然不同的酒红色叶状构造并且通过工业热压成型，这就把其创造出了一种全然的新外形——其本身就是由2900个成型的铝制模块组合而成，每块都有着三款不同深度的绿色。

dutch firm benthem crouwel architects has designed shopping mall 'forum mittelrhein' and kulturbau 'forum confluentes' in koblenz as part of the redevelopment of the central square of koblenz. the project reframes the complexity of public space mall architecture with a network of buildings that effectively reroute several flows of pedestrian traffic. the central square acts as a nexus of public transport and a relevant junction of the urban fabric with a trapezoidal layout and the beginnings of a rounded architectural language. the forum mittelrhein mall totes a sequence of spacious entrances and a layered horizontal form that promotes the movement of the masses. mechanisms of circulation act like points of orientation， with escalators becoming sinuous lines in space. the building envelope is a varied palette of process and material; the top three floors of the mall boast a distinguishable wine leaf-shaped tectonic and industrial thermoforming helped create the entire facade--itself comprised of 2900 shaped aluminum modules， each painted three shades of green.
