希思菲尔德小学

切尔姆音乐小学

Heathfield Primary School
Holmes Miller was appointed by South Ayrshire Council to design the redevelopment and extension of the existing Heathfield Primary School in November 2009 following a shortlisted ITT process focused on design approach.
Our philosophy sought to respect the scale and line of the original Victorian school frontage whilst removing the clutter to the rear allowing the extension to interlock with the existing building with a new dining hall and external courtyard at the heart of a new compact rectilinear building plan.
A modern and contemporary architectural appearance has been proposed for the new Heathfield Primary School extension formed around an approach of simplicity in form and materials to deliver clean， crisp， elegant lines which ensures a modern and contemporary architectural appearance， contrasting and complimenting the original Victorian school.
Castle View School
Castle View School is co-educational school for 1200 students aged 11-16. The project involved relocating the school to a busy town centre siteand creating a range of community facilities that would act as a beacon of education for the Island and a catalyst for further regeneration. The design includes two teaching wings， separated by a glazed central atrium and hall， which splay to create two separate external spaces， a protected courtyard on one side and a public square on the other. The simple material palette of timber and zinc set within an expressed brickwork frame establishes a civic quality.

Holland Park School
When it opened in 1958， Holland Park became the country’s first comprehensive and was lauded for ushering in a new era of education but in the decades that followed the school became the byword for all the ills of the education system. In the last decade however， thanks to the leadership and commitment of the staff and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea， there has been a remarkable transformation in the education standards and the grades obtained， to the extent that the school is now regarded as one of the best state schools in London.
Chetham’s School of Music
Chetham’s School of Music is the largest world class Music School in the UK and is unique to the region. The existing medieval building contains the first public library in England， which boats amongst its’ scholars Karl Marx and is an architectural gem. It is currently not readily accessible to the public and one of the main design principles was to create a dialogue between the existing buildings， the new school and its wider context. The musical heart of the School is in a building which is no longer fit for purpose and the School has outgrown its current building provision for teaching and learning through its increased success and profile.
