PAM组 增强现实，城市和商业 AR,City and Commercials by ChanLok Yee
设计说明：Thisthesis aims to illustrate the experience of using AR in urban environment inthe near 5-10 years based on visual elements we saw on traditional media likemagazines, signboards and webpages. In recent years, technologies generateenough convenience and profits are popularized With amazing speed. Formerchants, AR technology equals to a tool that put any information in front ofconsumers just to help them spend their money. This thesis will be taking theeconomy stand, rather than a "beautiful" or "interesting"condition set by designers like what people see in movies, it intends to makeprediction based on economic interest and human behaviors, see what would anaverage typical street in HK look like under AR.
PAM组 受音乐影响的建筑 ArchitectureInformed by Music by ZhuShenhan
设计说明：
Thethesis investigates correlations between architecture and music in order todevelop a design methodology informed by music. This approach provides analternative way to think compositional languages into spatial organizations. Myinterest lies in the underlying and connections that make it possible for musicto stimulate architectural strategy, for example, how a melody informs aspatial movement, or how the textures of different instruments come together toinspire an architectural scenario where spaces have a dialogue with each other.I specifically look at atonal music, which challenges traditional perceptionsabout composition by intentionally breaking up the harmony. To achieve that,composers set up unique rules to avoid a sense of tonic centrality and thuscreate fragmented musical quality. I intend to bring that quality toarchitecture through a collective performance of the structure, volume,circulation, light, the way people interact, and etc.
GLI组 野生城市:香港岛 FeralCity: Hong Kong Island by YuenAlexander Tin Lap

My thesisquestions the possibility of cohabitation between humans and wildlife in thecity. Takin hold of Hong Kong Island, a topographically lush landscape withurban development surrounding its coastline, the island would become a FeralCity.A visionhypothesizing how animals native to the island would behave in the cityenvironment of the future. Heavily inspired by érnest Callenbach's writing onEcotopia. A world where humans have an alternative relationship with nature bytake care of the planet, rather than overexploiting it. Feral City would beanimalizing urban habitats aspiring for a change in attitude on how nature andits wildlife should be perceived.In the21st century, cities have shifted from places of production to places forliving. Believing that cities will need to expand in order to sustain thegrowing human population. Issues of climate change stemming from anthropogenicactivates such as habitat loss and pollution will inevitably worsen anddiminish. Ultimately forcing wildlife to either go extinct or move into thecity, creating conflicts between human and animals in the same territory.Rather than seeing a humans and the city as detach entities unrelated to natureand its wildlife. When faced with current rise of rapid urbanization andhabitat loss, the urgent question of how should or how could cities be madelivable for both humans and wildlife arises.Havingbrought a disastrous chain of anthropogenic problems upon ourselves because ofour insatiable appetite to domesticate nature. As seen continually throughoutthe discourse of architecture and undeniably demonstrated by the veryexistence of zoos. An Invented architectural typology that controls nature and domesticates wildlife for the amusement of humans. Considering that wildlifegauges and to an extent serves as an indicator that accesses the quality ofenvironment around us. Feral city is a meta urban regime made friendly for bothhumans and wildlife that reimaginesan untapped, provocative potential for cities to evolve into. 这个方案很有意思哟，把香港岛做成了一个巨大的动物园。哈哈！！
LCR组 不会停止的学校-重新思考教室的走廊系统 No-StopSchool-Re-thinking School Corridor by LiZhongqi Cheer
设计说明：Thisthesis proposes a new prototype of school by investigating the corridor toextend existing education spatially and socially .Theeducation system is a venue to equip students with knowledge and skills for a10b after schools. The education system today is forwarding to be more diverse,thus requiring more specific and customized spatial conditions.The useof "corridor" as the alternative educational space can create a newtype of school between high density residential towers and can alsointerconnect existing schools into a larger school assembly.
GLI组 人类未来的停车间-集合体 People'sParking Future Inter-structure Clusters by PangTsun Man Emerich
设计说明：Thisthesis explores the capacity of turning unused/underused public parking spacesin Hong Kong Central District into social spaces that cater the spatial needsof the over-crowded city. The research reviews the relationship betweenpedestrians and cars when car culture is becoming obsolete, how one influencesthe mobility of the other and thus the activities that can be generated fromsuch changes.Trafficproblems and insufficient road space in Central has led our administrators totake actions to cut down the number of private cars (PCs) in the future. Itcreates a moment when the carparks are not in use, and eventually opens up forother functions such as event spaces for even I make a projection in 30 yearswhen the number of PCs drops from 71.8% to 10% and see how this change wouldre-shape the pedestrians-cars relationship and networks. Through sitedocumentations and analyses, 15 public carparks will be examined andtransformed in four categorized zones (based on the existing activities andconditions) as a response to the new net-works and spatial needs. The inherentcarpark qualities and activities of different users will contribute to my finalproposal of social clusters with various activities and functions.

Based onthe research of huge scale block development mode in China, it appearedquantities of urban traffic problems like traffic congestion and noise which isunfriendly to civilian. E-bike system, which is a sharing public facilities,can promote the efficiency of regional traffic connecting metro/MTR andpedestrian system as an vital ring of traffic chain.Industrialarea with continuous interior space, is suitable to match E-bike system andprovide a new living mode based on bicycle after refurbishment. Not onlyprovide more travel options, this type of renovation can also offer unique spatialexperience and program to enrich the activity mode.
PAM组 垂直独行 VerticalHeterarchy by YeungChau Chuen Tim
设计说明：If thehorizontality of public arounds has to be re-considered to cope with the forcesof capital and development, a dialogue opens up that makes it possible tore-interpret the potential of architecture in the vertical dimension with a public-dimension.Inresponse to the development of underground space proposed by Hong KongGovernment in prominent public spaces, this thesis explores the alternativepossibility of developing public space vertically above ground. Victoria Park,as the site, is not merely served for recreational purpose through history. Theintricacy of Victoria Park is unfolded into multiple dimensions of leisurelandscape, recreational facilities, occasional grounds and political tension.The studyfocuseson how to embed and amplify these original qualities vertically.Byproposing a typology for vertical public space to question the hierarchicalarrangement of typical tower, the thesis seeks to reinvent the heterarchy ofspace in architectural performance, so as to provide different perspectives ofinterpreting the public-dimension of Victoria Park.
GLI组 水陆--农村水利“丘陵地带”，华南地区 WaterLand— Rural Infrascape of Water "Hilly Area", Southern China by WangYusi
设计说明：Thisthesis explores the possibility of development without urbanization. Throughextensive observation, documentation and analytical drawings, it argues forlandscape and water system purification, land and crops to act as catalystsfor preparing the site/territory prior to any consideration of construction. Avillage with around 2000 villagers in the hilly area of Zhejiang province ischosen as an exemplar for this research.Theconflicts between nature and economic growth in China has become increasinglyprominent in the last forty years. The Chinese extensive development modelwhich relies on expansion of the quantity of investment including labour andresources, has caused serious domestic and regional environmental crises suchas sandstorms, smog and water pollution.Since thelast decade, the Chinese government has raised concern to deal with sit effectsof this extensive growth; however, relatively little has been achieved,especially for the rural( land- scape which according to China National Radio(2016) covers almost 70% of Chinese land.Theproject will be a development plan with several phases for the chosen villagealong local reservoir-based irrigation networks, which have been pollutedmainly due to agricultural waste such as sediment, nutrient and pesticides."Ministryof Land and Resources: the national agricultural land area is 9.682 billionmu." China National Radio, (2016).
